Weeee!Swmbo is not mowing her lawn. Again. She will HAVE to mow it one night after work this week, however, or she'll be the total freaky 'bad and weedy neighbor' ...ok, no weeds but there are a few patches of SUPERGRASS that are taller and tuftier than the rest. Last year (the first year I moved in) I had 'supercrappygrass' - I had some dead and flat patches. Apparently, totally without planning to, I did something right because now I have a FULL LAWN of really healthy grass and no dead patches. Um, wee? More to mow? But it is pretty. Particularly since my house is a totally obnoxious shade of bright canary yellow. I didn't paint it that color!! It's really, um, striking. One day I'll paint it but right now it makes me giggle. PLus the previous owner had JUST painted it like the year before.
Ok, so this is the thing (check out my smooth use of transitions...*cough*) I've been getting a very odd series of spam emails...the topics are typical - mortgages, free cameras, getting a car loan. And the first part of the email is normal - it's a graphic with some text and a 'click here to not receive more filthy spam from us' and 'click here for more info'.
But the bottom half of the emails - they contain just text. Weird, repetitive text that layers with the text in the emails before it and is telling some sort of surreal story. And some of the lines are really cool. So...this is the story so far:
Email 1: Free Camera!
I'd walk down to the stream, look around, and take a deep breath. I didn't have to say: can we change the meeting from 6 to 11? My kids have a music recital and I dont want to miss it for the world. He wanted to know more. I didn't have to say: can we change the meeting from 6 to 11? My kids have a music recital and I dont want to miss it for the world.
There were many examples of animals all around. I'd walk down to the stream, look around, and take a deep breath. Suddenly, she wasn't there. Suddenly, she wasn't there.
I'd seen many of the same things I've seen before. I can never describe the walk back to my truck. Suddenly, she wasn't there. Suddenly, he disappeared.
But this was a long road, and should I walk down it, I might never come back. I'm evil. Are you getting pieces of this? I'm evil. Can you tell me the answer? she asked.
Email 2: Drive a car for free
Sounds good to me, I said. This was a place without the internet, without email, without the rush of business meetings and untapped desires. (Things were looking worse.) And someone was waiting for me, just around the corner.
Hi, I said to all the animals. Sounds good to me, I said. Suddenly, he disappeared. Suddenly, she wasn't there.
Thick walls are important. Just tell me your answer, even if it sucks. There were many examples of animals all around. It was time...
The continuation of our species matters more than you can imagine. It is the single most important thing we can do. I'll tell you what happened next. (Things were looking worse.) I'd thought it was sad to hate the forest the way she'd done. How embarrassing.
Email 3- Auto Loan

It was cold and sweet. (I'm loving the way you walk with me so quietly, contentedly.) This was a place without the internet, without email, without the rush of business meetings and untapped desires. I was just thinking.

The same thing we do every night, he replied. Suddenly, he disappeared. Don't do that, the cat pointed out. Are you getting pieces of this? Can you tell me the answer? she asked.
Email 4: Mortgage Professionals
This is what I like, I'd tell myself. I'd walk down to the stream, look around, and take a deep breath. Don't do that, the cat pointed out. Suddenly, he disappeared.
That could well be the answer. That could well be the answer. And someone was waiting for me, just around the corner. Are you getting pieces of this?

Just tell me your answer, even if it sucks. We're going to regret this, my friend said. The same thing we do every night, he replied. Sounds good to me, I said. I'm cold, you said, staring at the continuation we had to feel through yesterday.
*hugs* I hope everybody is having a good day! Oh, and 5 bucks to anybody that wants to mow my lawn.

And the email/spam? Verah, verah strange.
Although kind of twistedly interesting. And certainly better than some fic I've read lately. . .
And *you* are the only person I know that reads spam. So perhaps they are supersecret messages. Just for you.
Now that's a scary thought.
::hugs::

I don't normally read them but see, these were weird, I could just see glimpses of the text before the picture resolved - so I had to check it out.
And my favorite line is I'd thought it was sad to hate the forest the way she'd done

Apparently Pinky and the Brain are sending each other sooper sekrit messages through your e-mail??
(hope that you know who Pinky and the Brain are, otherwise that comment is just as weird as the spam e-mail!)

Fortunately I DO know who Pinky and the Brain are!
