Update on swmbo so Ash knows I'm alive

Just a quick update as my mom opens us up another bottle of wine (yay, swmbo-mom!)

We're having a Buffy marathon tonight. It's lovely. Season 2, because on one of her previous visits we'd seen most of Season 1 and parts of Season 2, so this weekend we are hitting the Angelus arc. Mom has fallen in love with Oz. Also, during Phases when Xander and Cordelia were making out and the Oz-werewolf attacked Mom said "That monster looks like the raccoon that I caught in the trap, all teeth and claws"

So this weekend I have spread Oz-love to Mom AND reinforced the message that raccoons are evil. (NOT that Oz-werewolf is evil! No!!!) So I think it was very productive.

We just finished watching Passions and are about to watch Killed by Death, aided by our second bottle of wine and some chocolate. Swmbo-mom is also about to cry about Giles, saying sadly "Poor Giles, he never gets anybody does he?".

And in other news, we went to lunch with my best friend/neighbor and her husband. And they used the event to announce they are pregnant (first child). *dances* This is amazing, amazing and wonderful news and I'm over the moon. She and I have been best friends for over 10 years now and he's been a close friend of mine for even longer than he's known her. I adore them both and weee, I know before their parents do. I am already mentally preparing to spoil the baby rotten, even though he or she isn't due until September. *dances more* Hey, I get all of the fun of spoiling and non of the midnight feedings. Although when I said that to swmbo-mom she said "Oh sure, it'll be just like Blitz (my/our dog) - they go out of town and you'll be taking care of it". Well probably not QUITE like that but hey, built in babysitter that you've known for ten years living right across the street, they're darn lucky :p

The swmbo is extremly, EXTREMLY happy tonight. Love you guys *hugs* Now I'm back to my buffy-marathon. I won't introduce her to Angel the Series until after we've gotten through Season 3 of Buffy so it probably won't be until a few mom-visits down the line.,

Thank you!! She seriously is ! She raised me, after all. And did a fine job of it, if I do say so myself.

And I am so excited. I have pseudo-aunt status because my bestfriend from 4th grade-through-highschool had a son and I absolutely adore him, but they live far away and I've only actually gotten to see him a couple of times in his life (he's only a few months over 1 now). But this is pseudo-aunt status of a baby that will be ACROSS the STREET. And seriously, best friends with the mom since we were freshman in high school - and we were roommates for years. She's one of the reasons I moved to KC. I can not express how excited I am. Except with hugs. *HUG*

LOVE YOU!!!!! SO much. (also a bit, um, drunk with wine now. Yay wine! Mom went downstairs to get cheese and, um, more wine. We're about to watch the next Buffy)

Oz!! I love you. I love and ADORE you. And Phil and Liam even, that's how much!

But you know, Ash CALLED my house a few hours ago, to check up on me since I haven't been on. And to check up on the swmbo-mom and make sure she wasn't going to drive home tonight, since it was dark. So you see, it was really just to put her mind at ease. YOUR mind I know loves me and adores me and knows that I am safe through osmosis, as I said.

And Ashy, if you read this, and I know you will? Mom was actually VERY happy about the phone call and I'm supposed to give you her number so that if you try again and I dont' answer, you can call her and say "where is your daughter?" and she'll be able to send out squads. She's a wee bit overprotective.

Extra love cause you know, swmbo-mom and I have had a lot of wine and might have a weee bit more.

Wee! She is a very, very smart and beautiful woman, that is true! I have no words for how much I adore her. And weee, I have pictures of her when she's a teenager, I need to try to scan them in tomorrow, then everybody else can enjoy Mom-in-fishnet-stockings.

And yes! He does have Oz. But to introduce my mom to Oz/Giles slash would be quite an endeavor since *cough* she has no idea that sex exists at all. Hush. Leave me my illusions!!
