Happy Friday my dearest darlings!
Wee! First of all...Happiest of Happy Birthdays to

Second of all - Hee!
mpoetess has earned a place in the
swmbo-heart FOREVER (not that she didn't already have one!) by donating money in the pure and glorious name of Snygel in the Saving Angel Shipper wars! The Food Drive's choice of topics for yesterday was so inspired *dances* And, heee! I am saddened that the organizers don't appreciate the beauty that is Snygel, as can be seen from this quote: We'd like to tip our hats to the inventive among you who came up with a few interesting couple combos; such as Lorne/Angel, and the most disturbing pairing of all time Snyder/Angel. Disturbing?! Darn their inability to see true love! Well, the shipper war is going to be rematched on March 29th and I'll actually be able to donate then myself. Snygel will become known and loved, forever! *peers at Ashy* Although I'm so torn because while Snygel is good and true and canon - who can resist the siren's song that is Xolaf? Or Splory? Oh, to love so many ships and so well...
*blissful sigh*
And wee! I start my new job Monday and today I ... well I slack at home in the morning and then I *shudder* go to renew my car tags in the afternoon and buy creamer (I had only enough for ONE cup of coffee today! Horrors! Fortunately I also like my coffee black. It's coffee...there is no bad!) and ...oh yeah, go to the bank. *nearly forgot*
Hmm...ok, here's the thing. Some of you may or may not remember a series of cell phone disasters that I had. Where I um, broke the phone partially by spinning in my chair while it was plugged into the cell phone recharger. And then a couple months later (2-3 weeks ago), completed the job by nearly setting the whole thing on fire with the replacement recharger. Now for those who may not realize, swmbo is a tech-junkie, she can't help it. This phone was the Treo Handspring 180 - preordered and received when they first became available - one of the first PDA/cell phones on the market and definitely one of the first good ones. (And swmbo was screwed because the first ones were b/w only - and they'd priced the color versions as significantly higher and not coming out for any known time. Then a few weeks after she bought the b/w version, they announced the color version would be coming out in like 2 months AND dropped the price to just 100 bucks more than the b/w. Grr.)
So anyway - there are a lot more cellphone PDAs out there. Both Palm OS (like the Treo) and PocketPC (I've had first an Aero and then an IPAQ for years, but it's also currently, well, in bad shape. It won't hold a charge. I'm cursed that all things break at the same time.)
Does anybody out there have any experience with any of the other models? Or service plans available, cause I'm with T-Mobile now, but Sprint (curses on their name, both of them) is also available. Feedback on networks and/or phones would be SO lovely. Particularly - and this is the key - the web browser and email functions. Shuddup, I'm a geek. Hee!
*loves you all* *HUGS*

SO commenting on my own post cause I'm that lame but I dont want to edit it. Plus, if you click to read the part behind the cut tag you'll see this ANYWAY!
Anyway - pretty much the version I had before isn't available easily, so I'd go with either the 270 (color version) or any totally new phone - either the sprint version of the Treo or one of the many pocketpc phones out there. I was just going to go with the 270 and not worry about it at all, until I found out that they dont' even freaking sell that on it's own anymore - you HAVE to buy a new plan. You can't transfer your existing plan to a phone that you buy at a higher cost. Which makes me grr. I know, it's stupid but I just wanted to transfer. Now I have to call and cancel the other, and then figure out...plus my plan was older and I'm not sure they even offer it as a new plan anyway. *grumbles*
I like both the PocketPC and the Palm OS - they both have their plus and minuses - I'm primarily interested in how they work on the wireless plans and/or as dialup, and how the browsers function. I have very limited experience with the PocketPC's browser cause I never bought a wireless card for mine, sooooo...
Hee.
I spam my own journal, hurrah!

Anyway, mr. muse has the newest Treo through Sprint through work and loves it. (He's a big techie, so he did a bunch of research beforehand, and he's kind of a power user.) You might look at Amazon.com, because they sold the phone and his Sprint plan the cheapest anywhere when he got it; he ended up getting the phone for about half price, as I recall.
So, that wasn't a very helpful comment, other than that mr. muse likes the new Treo better than the old one (he didn't like the flip-up part) and has had good luck with it.
*dances with you to distract you from the unhelpfulness of this comment*

That is totally a helpful comment! *goes to check Amazon and prices and plans*
I did the research a couple years ago when I first got my phone but since then EVERYTHING has changed. And there are so many more options now, really.
I think when I'm out getting my car tags and misc stuff done today I might have to check out Best Buy, just to look at things up close some more. I've done it casually before but not too much cause if i did it too much then I wanted to BUY and I didn't NEED a new phone then. But I'm going crazy not having mine!

too much ofa panic attack over it. I also found that the online sites for At&T, Verizon, etc. had *far* better plans than they offered in the stores. Way fewer charges and so forth for set up and things.Anyway, good luck! Going to play with the phones in person sounds like a very good idea, too. :)

I hate making decisions that involve me spending large chunks of money. I like decisions that require NO INVESTMENT! Cause of the whole - check how I got screwed before!
Weee! And yeah, plans are obnoxious - there is no real balance to them. *snuggles up to you*
