So, yes, the show I was remembering being told to watch *was* Leverage - bonus points to everybody who told me to watch it and/or told me that's what people told me to watch.

Because it is freaking *amazing* and hits oh, 90% of my kinks. I mean, hello - ENSEMBLE team that's actual ensemble cast, not the 'oh, it's a group but we only care about the 'lead'' sorta ensemble. And it's THIEVES AND CON ARTISTS working outside the law but for justice, hello, how awesome is that?!

And it's just fantastic and I watched, um, all existing seven episodes on Saturday.

I was sorta up until 2am because I watched the first few and then had to meet people for dinner and then drinks and got home at a little past 11 and was like "just one more before bed" and "just one more before bed" turned into 4 more episodes.

So SO SO SO good. Of course, on Sunday morning at 6am the cat was like "omg, omg, you are going to be late for work and if you're late for work, how will you KITTENS GET FED?!"

He doesn't believe in weekends. And he would not stop, ever, ever, ever. So at 7:30 I gave up and went downstairs to sleep on the sofa until oh, TEN AM. I never sleep that late but then I don't usually go to bed at 8am! And them I ended up spending most of Sunday evening catching up on old episodes of Criminal Minds because apparently when I break the seal of not watching tv for 4 months, I break it HARD. I blame my mom for making me watch House Hunters all last weekend.

Also, watching like 7 back-to-back episodes of Criminal Minds means that when you go to bed at midnight, you're pretty sure somebody's gonna break into your house and murder you dead.

They didn't. But there's always tonight.

HI darlings, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I know I did!

I highly suggest trading in the points for delicious, delicious coffee! Mmm, coffee.

I *cannot* watch this show. It goes straight to my lizard brain with an electrified needle, and presses. Hard. I'm sure it's brilliant, smart people keep telling me so. But it's not worth feeling that way... Bah. Vivid imagination, I guess!

At times like last night, I do not know WHAT I WAS THINKING!

It really is amazing, but the problem is it's TOO well done and then boom. I'm jumping at passing car headlights at midnight and absolutely convinced that tree shadows are gonna get me.

*facepalm*

And yet every six months I remember how good the show is and watch every single episode available at once.

Dear God, Swmbo, we almost literally had the exact same weekend. (Substitute "daughter" for "cat," and attribute "Criminal Minds" to best friend instead of self, and...yeah. Eerily identical!)

Isn't "Leverage" the BESTEST THING EVER? Also, "Leverage"/"Criminal Minds" crossover fic would be awesome, y/n?

Hahahha, EXCELLENT :) Go us!

Oh man, it is SO awesome and hahaha, oh man, yeah, you can totally see both teams trying to solve/get justice for the same corporate murder/coverup thing and getting in each other's way and it would be *AMAZING*

Leverage is my new squee. It makes me SO HAPPY. Plus, on top of the original 13 shows, TNT has now ordered 6 more, which makes the first "season", which was only supposed to be half a season, 19 shows. (!!!!!)

One of the reasons why the show is written so well: they brought the writers in EARLY -- about 2 months before shooting -- so all the scripts were written *together*. Hello continuity!

And I'm so glad you remembered to watch and that you like it!

SERIOUSLY!

Although some people may kill me, because I'd be much happier if Christian Kane got a hair cut. That's right, I SAID IT!

But wow, I had NO idea - I knew it was for 12 episodes initially and just the first 7 had aired and was totally happy and excited I had 5 more - this just MADE MY DAY.

Yeah, they did a GREAT job. I think I only had like one issue which was not about consistency but about timing - the one where Elliot (Eliot?) is talking about his ex-girlfriend and how she was the closest he came to marriage and 'revealing' it for the first time after we'd already met Amy in the horse episode.

Also, seriously excellent and real chemistry (of all sorts) between EVERY permutation of characters. Which is LOVE. I am adoring it.

::re: Amy:: The episodes are actually airing in the wrong order. I found this out on the creators' blog, after I had this exact moment:

Hardison: Man, I just don't get weddings. Why go to all that trouble for a piece of paper?
Eliot: Yeah.
Hardison: You've never been married?
Eliot: No.
Hardison: You ever been close?
Me: ::frowns::
Eliot: ::evasively:: No.
Hardison: ::does not buy it:: What was her name?
Me: ...Amy. Her name was Amy. You met her four episodes ago.
Eliot: She was nobody. Just someone I grew up with.
Me: Right! Amy! Four episodes ago!
Hardison: Why'd you leave?
Eliot: She married someone else.
Me: Right! Like you talked about four episodes ago!
Hardison: Where were you that you weren't the one?
Me: Being tortured by Eastern Europeans.
Eliot: I liberated Croatia!
Me: See?

ETA: Edited to fix MAJOR dialogue flub.

Hhahahahah, YES! That is almost *exactly* how my brain conversation went! Except there was more 'ummm, wha?'

Heee. I totally should have checked for that kinda thing but of course I had much more worry of spoilers in general since I was catching up. Oh, darn you television stations with your inability to go with the 'right' order! Hrmfs.

I watched the first half of a British miniseries about zombies last night (really well done and tense and scary!), and then inexplicably had a loooong dream where I got mixed up with the mob and was holed up in some stranger's house with seven other people having a fake dinner party so the mobsters who were watching us wouldn't know that we knew that they were after us. It was very confusing and scary but also slapstick and caperish - I even hotwired a minivan at one point! I woke up this morning with lingering dream fear and when I went downstairs I realized I'd left my keys in the front door all day yesterday and overnight! Home security, yay!

HI SWMBO.

MY PIQUE! Do not get eaten by ZOMBIES!! That is an order! LOCK YOUR DOORS!

Also I can not believe your subconscious can hotwire a minivan! I am so jealous! Mine has decided that mangoes are the most nutritionally perfect fruit on the planet and wants to eat more of them.

I WILL DO MY BEST OKAY!

I can't believe it either! My actual consciousness can barely start a car with the proper key and an instruction manual, so it's pretty ridiculous! Dream me is very creative and resourceful and competent! Sort of like Magyver.

Heeeeeeeee. I am fond of both dream you and real you, so it's all good. And trust me. It took me like TWO HOURS to figure out the right configuration to get the DVD player hooked up with it not running through my directTV box yesterday! (I get new service wednesday though, yay!)

HOURS

It was FOUR cables! Except I had like 6 and they were NOT as simple as they appeared. Grr. But I felt ridiculous. I mean, how hard is it to hook up a DVD player?! It's 2009!

Oh my god, really??? I feel like I saw someone on my flist say how bad it was, and so ended up shrugging it off sadly, because it sounded like a cool show.

Ensemble, you say? Thieves and con artists? *wibbles*

Someone on your friend's list is crazy because it's AWESOME! It's really so much fun - sense of humor and adventure and sometimes a bit cheesy, but not cheesy in a B-movie sorta way. And the characters are GREAT.

DO IT GO FOR IT I DID AND I AM NOT REGRETTING IT!

It is ADDICTIVE!! I'm also a HUGE fan of "Property Virgins" now, even though on all of these shows I'm torn between thinking that they're crazy and thinking "wait, what, you're going to spend HOW MUCH on a house?!"

Well, it's on TNT if that helps at all - but that's all I know. At least the last episode is available through Hulu, too.
