I feel like SUCh a dope. This morning I was already running late and bam, managed to take the wrong exit off the highway on my way into work. That's just ridiculous, why would somebody do that?
It's not even an exit I take for ANYTHING. Apparently my subconscious wants to explore...motel land.
Tonight's Nephbo night dinner! And my turn to cook! I've got the crockpot working away at home AS I TYPE. This is going to present a dilemna if I get home and I'm starving because, hello, it will smell delicious and there will still be an hour or two til actual dinner.
Wednesday night cooking is particularly challenging because BFF has developed serious, serious allergies to all things dairy (aka, life-threatening) and severe sensitivity to wheat, so we're going all dairy- and gluten-free. Which isn't hard, but does mean a little more recipe research. If anybody EVER comes across great recipes that meat that criteria, hook a swmbo up.
I watched the second episode of Rizzoli and Isles! I know, I'm still running significantly behind. There's always five thousand things to do and never enough day to do them in. But...
( Not-really-spoilers-below: )
Also, finished The Long Song by Andrea Levy. REALLY, really loved it. It's a fantastic read - it's the self-told history of a slave girl/freed woman in Jamaica and the voice the author creates is amazing, so rich and it plays so well with the idea of intent and POV and the themes of love and self and hypocrisy and I could go on and on but I want to mull it over more.
Ok, time to put my nose to the grindstone. I MUST, for the sake of my sanity, finish off 3 things today. Maybe 4. COME ON SANITY COME ON.
PS. Hahah, the grindstoning thing took place prematurely - I actually finished this post in notepad (I always type in notepad in case LJ FREAKS OUT on me) and then flipped to an actual piece of work and started typing.
Forgetting the whole copy/paste/post portion of the routine. So, um, 45 minutes later... WHOOPS. This is SO not my day of sanity!
