I believe my excitement for today can be summed up with:
DOLLHOUSE DOLLHOUSE DOLLHOUSE DOLLHOUSE!!
I can not wait! Oh Whedon, welcome back to the little screen, I have MISSED YOU.
But I am here in Fodville and it's like staying at a high-class bed and breakfast! Fod made me bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast yesterday, mmm. To order! And outside my window I can see mountains. Mountains, kids! Coming from the flat plains of swmville, that's just amazing. Yesterday we walked downtown and there were deer. Not just a deer, but lots and lots - we must have passed 7 or 8, just munching on grass in people's yards or leisurely crossing the road. I thought one was a yard statue til it turned and looked at me! And they were SO close - We passed within six feet of one, easy. He just turned and watched us super closely and twitched his tail in our direction, then went back to eating once we'd passed.
I also introduced Fod to the glories of a really good spice store, because a really good spice store is amazing - she'd seen one downtown but never been in it. That has All Changed. And we went to a used bookstore that's like - the definition of the way a used bookstore should be. Because yes, even with my Kindle, some things are still only available in physical books. I bought two books - but I might have sorta absconded with one of the books Fod bought for herself, I started reading it when we went to a coffeehouse and I'm kind of addicted - it's House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski and I haven't even gotten to the really oddly laid out parts but it's SO COMPELLING. I might need to go and get a copy for myself for my trip home.
HAPPY FRIDAY the THIRTEENTH - and HAPPY DOLLHOUSE!! *dance dance dance*
