Today's LuthorCorp Thought for the Day: One today is worth two tomorrows.

Well, that's fair. And by my math that means that one today is actually worth FOUR Saturdays. So I'd love to trade them in right now, please!

Yesterday just kept going from one disaster to the next. As I was leaving the office, swmboss passed me and said "Today might be a good day to break out one of those bottles of wine your mom bought you". Oh yes, yes indeed. And I DID, except when I went down to the basement to get one, I discovered water. Lots and lots of water, centering around the drain and spreading out thickly. I was like "..." and as far as I can tell, the dehumidifier has been working so hard to keep up with this obscene weather that the drain couldn't take the amount of water pumping through and just clogged.

I turned it off and removed the hose and a few hours later it had drained out, but I guess this means I can't keep it on high. Plus if it's a clogging issue - how DO you clean a basement drain?! It's just a hole in the floor, for all intents and purposes!

But that's not all!

A few hours later, just before Project Runway, the threatening storms finally broke - which is awesome, because the weather has cooled down because of it. But the lightening and wind rain was fierce and it managed to knock out my direct-tv signal. RIGHT as the Advertised Event was happening!! *facepalm*

I stayed up and watched the 11 o'clock show, which was fine - I think the signal was only lost for maybe 5 minutes - it just happened to be the crucial five minutes. ANd me being me, once it was lost for more than 30 seconds and with no idea of when it'd come back, I switched to dvd to wait it out, because seeing the beginning and end without the middle would have traumatized me.

But because of that I got to bed extra late and I am extra draggy and today is going to actually be hellish as well, because we are buried in work over here. I LOVE having two people doing the work of four or five. It makes my day.

On the other hand, there's pilot talk all over my flist and it's making me really, really excited and happy. GO PILOT TALK!

Now I must go poke at a powerpoint presentation (I hate powerpoint) and make up some jeopardy questions and then force myself to be extra-productive. What I ask of the world is: BE BETTER THAN YESTERDAY!
