*squishes and love* Hi hi kids, didja miss me?!
I am happily nestled in a chair at Fod's! My tummy is full of hot coffee and toast with strawberry jam. I spent last night in Kita's living room, where we watched Battlestar Galactica and ate cherries from a roadside stand and during which I may have fallen asleep and woken up to Kita and Fod poking each other and making fun of me. I AM TWO HOURS BEHIND!!
A *long* night's sleep seems to have made my clock reset however.
I nearly didn't make it to Fodakitaville! It was *very* close - and completely my own fault, unlike most of my travel-related disasters!
I began running behind the night before, when I went downstairs to throw in some laundry only to discover I'd done that two days ago and forgotten. So of course I had to rewash and start my new load an hour later! And then go to sleep before it was done and put it in the dryer in the morning.
So yesterday at 30 minutes before I needed to head to the airport I wasn't packed OR dressed and I still had to make sure swmkit would be ok - I MISS HIM!
I really thought I could do it, because somehow I always feel like I can squeeze and stretch time just enough to get everything done, no matter what laws of physics I have to twist. I left the house late, maybe 10 minutes after schedule. Then:
Hit construction
Got to the parking *just* as a bus was leaving so missed that, waited *forever* for a new one.
Of course my airline was the last stop at the terminal, too!
Then! AS I am getting ID and boarding pass checked, I can see my *completely* boarded gate through the glass !
Then the security guy gets a beep, asking about 10C - that is *me*! I am there! He tells them and me that they're holding the plane
Next up: Metal detectors and having my bags checked! Security decides one of my bags needs to go through again! AND THEY TAKE THEIR TIME!! I am PANIC! But I get to the gate, the attendant unlocks it and escorts me down and I am in my chair like 2 minutes before we taxi away.
WHEW! *HUGS*
