*sneaks flowers in front of your door*

This weekend was - lost in the mists of time. I went out Friday night, which was a lot of fun and then I went home and went to bed.

And then I woke up Saturday with a tickle in my throat, the barest ghost of pain. And I manfully carried on through and went about my day - which was sodden and soggy and damp, so there was, as I predicted, no mowing - and was just soo tired. So I lay down for a nap. And when I woke up, my ghost had completely materialized and my sore throat was demanding my attention and it brought along its friends, congestion, cough and exhaustion.

And they stuck around well into Sunday - where I mustered up the energy only to go to the grocery store to get cat litter, I couldn't even make it to Target, as I had planned, because it was about two miles further away and that seemed an eternity. And I brought more cold medicine and cat litter and some food and went home and ate ice cream for my sore throat and then ended up going back to bed for a nap.

When I was awake, I read the two books from the recent scandal - the original ones, Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings. And really, reading them while dosed up on cold medicine and feeling woozy and sick was the best choice, because it was very much a case of my being unable to empathize with the lead. But the funniest thing of all is:

Spoilers for anybody else planning on reading them, but without names. If anybody cares. Nobody probably does but with my luck, I'd accidently reveal it to the one person who does! )
I also tried to read Size 12 is Not Fat but kept getting annoyed and frustrated with it and putting it down. And I couldn't focus long enough for anything more serious than that - I tried.

So I watched lots of Surface (I get SO addicted to that) and the last two episodes of Commander-in-Chief (ditto) and lots and lots and LOTS of Criminal Minds. The latter was not the brightest move since when I finally went to bed around midnight on Sunday (Thanks, Naps, for messing with my sleep patterns!) I had visions of serial killers dancing through my head and dreams about them and it was, on a scale of 1 to 10, about a negative 2 on the restful-sleep-o'meter.

But I also watched Doctor Who and Grey's Anatomy.

Grey's Anatomy:

And while for the most part cough, congestion and sore throat have departed for other pastures, exhaustion is still hanging on with tooth and claw. So I have had two cups of coffee and a cinnamon roll (because my coffee was black as a nod to having a cold and that made my stomach extra unhappy and I need an emergency food stop) and now I'm babbling like Meredith except at least I'm not repeating words and I'm going to see if I can get any work accomplished on this fine, bright and beautiful monday morning.

HAPPY MAY DAY!
