Because - HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
wesleysgirl! I hope that your day is fantastic and fabulous and as wonderful you are. And that there is cake, for there should be cake. I place the birthday crown gently upon your head! And I'm sending you extra hugs and squishes and good thoughts.
The rest of this post is all links stolen from my flist! Go me!
First, yesterday the stellar
megl42 linked to a fic that is just - there are no words. Well, there are a lot of words, but they're all superlatives and that just begins to sound overwrought and unbelievable, even if they're true. It's a Harry Potter/Colbert Nation crossover that everybody who is familiar with both should read, under pain of 'not knowing what they're missing'. Harry Potter and the Eagle of Truthiness.
Second, darling
estrella30 made my day a SECOND time, by linking to TeeVeePedia. The featured article on Webster alone is worth it's weight in gold, but if you haven't read the descriptions of FOX's various departments or the tragedy of NBC...
But I will leave you with this gem, so suitable for my flist: Slash fiction : Slash fiction is a form of fan-written fiction often circulated on the Internet. Presumably originated by gay men, it was quickly co-opted by heterosexual fangirls. In slash fiction, male characters in a television series or film are romantically or sexually coupled together, sometimes in blatant defiance of any existing characterization or story logic, primarily because it's just totally hot.
Slash fiction is believed to have originated with a series of stories posted on Usenet in the late 1980s, detailing an allegedly fictional coupling between Guns 'n' Roses frontman Axl Rose and his guitarist, Slash. (emphasis mine)
Popular examples of slash fiction include Kirk/Spock, Picard/Riker, Mulder/Krycek, Angel/Spike, Xander/Spike, Anyone with a Y chromosome/Spike, Spike/Spike (time travel is involved), Andy/Barney, Fred/Barney, Bo/Luke, Bert/Ernie, Joey/Marcel, Michael/K.I.T.T., and nearly every episode of the television series Smallville.
****
I am pretty sure I broke a rib laughing, but it was totally worth it. If you love, hate or have even heard of a show they mention - read the entry.
( Tales - ok, ramblings - from real life )
Love and hugs and happy Sunday to you all! Also, what's with this Daylight Savings Time? How come nobody reminded me of it and I only happened to even know because I was up reading on my pda at 2am/3am and it gave me the little message?! I am totally messed up and I want an extra hour and I don't want to have to wait until October! Also, I don't have a spring-y icon. If anybody can point me in some direction, there will be Great Love.
