I wish I could identify birdsong.
There is a bird that makes a sort of hooting, hollow, echoing call on damp, early mornings. It always makes me think of my grandmother's apartment, of drinking coffee out on the balcony in the crisp air. And even though it's been years and years since I've done that, this one particular bird cry always makes me feel there all over again. And I have the front window open and I can hear it now and it's so lovely - but I still don't know what it is.
The fact that my tummy is warm and full of coffee just adds to the illusion.
We've got flash flood warnings today. It's time for me to start building an arc! It's supposed to storm badly today and tomorrow, my lawn will grow like mad and I shall be drenched. On the other hand, it's supposed to be cooler today, which almost makes up for the fact that at any moment I shall be looking like a drowned rat! We take our blessings where we can :)
( I'm getting paid to blog about my life... )
Ohh, last night was Lost and Nephbo! However, in keeping with tradition, I say nothing about Lost until Arrie has seen it. Nothing, on the other hand, prevents me from talking about Nephbo at GREAT LENGTH. And I am cutting this because it might turn long:
( nephbo is a brilliant child )
Wee! Anyway, it is time for me to get ready to head to work where I got all sorts of emergency deadlines and am already slightly prepared to stress out. But it is THURSDAY and that means the weekend is almost here and that, my darlings, is an excellent thing. Have a fabuous day! *loves*
