Grey skies, thunder rumbling, rain lashing against the windows (and keeping me up half the night!) and it all combines to equal April Showers of DOOM. Time to find my umbrella. And possibly a boat.
This might very well put a damper (HEEE!) in my plans to mow the back yard after work tonight since it's not looking very much like it's gonna clear up and be sunny. But we live in hope, my friends, we live in hope. Or possibly not-hope since I somehow won't be too crushed if I don't get to mow until tomorrow.
Yet despite the much-interrupted sleep, I am feeling happy, shiny and sparkly today. I am on my second cup of coffee and there is something so satisfying about a toasted wheat bagel with cream cheese and peach preserves. It fills the tummy and the soul! So I am feeling optimistic about this day.
This story is particularly for
moireach. On Friday, swmboss got a package in the mail - she'd ordered the ultimate geek briefcase, which she'd found on some cheap clearance site online for like, five bucks. It is aluminum trim, but the bulk of it is black with green letters of code all over it. It is very, very geeky. But here's the kicker M - the code? Is translated from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock!
( swmbo squees about Stargate SG1 - Sesaon 1, spoilers for those who care about something 7 years old )
annakovsky posted two brilliant things, weee!! First, because she loves me that much - and because as she mentioned, I am persistent - she wrote me a double drabble for my Law & Order: SVU OTP - Alex Cabot and Tim Donovan! Never mind that Tim appears in just one episode and supposedly dies in it. There was real love there, people!! Just like there is in What the Dying Do. And this is probably justice that I mocked
bear for over a year about L&O (L&O has a FANDOM?!) and now I crumble in the span of a weekend. Fine, Bear. YOU WIN.
And Kovsky also posted yet another brilliantly cracktastic crossover - Cohen (& Moody). *happysigh* And, as always, she does it so well that you forget how implausible the premise because it is so real - comedy and tragedy and perfection.
And lastly - I am totally enjoying Dr. Who *happiness*. Doctor/Rose OTP 4evah. Oh! And my
ros_fod has some questions on our perceptions of questions about geopolitics - who we learned shaped the world we grew up in and what we think now. AND! For those who missed my Slag Heap questions yesterday, go back an entry, please! *beams*
And that's that and I sign off now for a 'hard day at work'. Hee. *LOVES* I hope I don't wash away!
