swmbo at 09:45am on 08/12/2004YAY! Today is going to be an awesome, spectacular day!
Why? Because it is that glorious day of days, The Second Annual Crazy Sock Day! I am wearing black socks with pictures ofstockings socks on them. And the little blobs on those socks have, in my mind and explanation, tiny socks on them. And so forth, to INFINITY!! AND BEYOND!
In addition to Crazy Sock Day (SECOND ANNUAL!), it is also the introduction of Coworker Z! Coworker Z joins our department from...somewhere and starts sometime today. He's at orientation so who knows when he'll actually show up and we'll meet him but yay! Everybody welcome Coworker Z! Now at LuthorCorp we can truly say that we have employees from A to Z! (except A is still on her leave of absence *sniff* I am tempted to rename them, except for the MASS CHAOS this could cause my friendslist as they become overcome with confusion).
Speaking of leave of absence - the return of swmboss! Oh there was much rejoicing. I went over to give her a docket and say 'hi!' and told her that I was the picture of health. Her response? "Well, we can change that if you want...want a sip of my soda? To make out with me?". Hee. Also, Coworker N is loudly emphatic that she was NOT out sick yesterday, she was, and I quote "Under the weather. I don't GET sick!" She says this as she's currently wearing like thirty layers of clothing, has a fleecy jacket with the hood up over her head, a blanket across her legs AND a heating pad on her lap...and is claiming she's cold.
I really have no words.
Ok, lie. I have a lot of words. Most of them slightly mocking. Also some paranoia, because I do NOT want to get sick, k? K!
You guys were spared yesterday, due to LiveJournal's wonking, particularly on the Indigo cluster which, you'll be excited to know, swmbo is on! I had a whole post with a lot of ISSUES and it was typed up and everything, but I couldn't post it, because my LJ was in readonly mode for god, seriously at least 3 hours. Also so were the LJ's of a number of my flist - I couldn't reply in journals, which was particularly traumatic in the fact that my darling violetsmiles was back and yet...I could say nothing to her. I finally emailed her (that's thinking!) but still. Grr.
Also, my gmail is currently wonking and people are getting replies I sent yesterday. Wow. I was totally NOT in touch.
The bitching was primarily about the fact that my car loan people are making it incredibly difficult to pay my bill by, you know, not sending me information on where to send the payment to. And then when I try to call them, sticking me in a phone tree from Hell which made it impossible to speak to a live person if, you know, I didn't KNOW my account number. *facepalms*
Finally I got to somebody by pretending to apply for a new loan, spoke with them and got the info. Of course this means I have to supply my OWN ENVELOPE to submit my first payment. And the only envelopes I have are christmas ones with christmas trees and candy canes andcrazy socks stockings.
Also! Today is another riveting round of Buzzword Bingo! Today's theme? The colors of Manager H's hair. She's dyed her hair a different color (or colors) every couple of months for years now. And yet she forgot it was crazy sock day and went with PLAIN WHITE SOCKS! However, she's still entered the contest, using my suggestion of "it's crazy to think those socks would win, therefore they are the craziest socks of all."
AND! I know, damn, this is a long entry but I feel like I'm only even skimming the surface of the gazillion things I could say. But today is ALSO that most fabulous of days - THE THIRD DAY OF SWMNESS!!!
On the third day of swmness,
my true love gave to me:
three bear hugs
two magic phones
And a pipin' hot cup of coffee!
I'm gonna have to start putting that behind a cut tag soon, cause it'll get long! Also, I have to say that this one was the hardest day to get a saying that would work! So instead I give a nod to my bear :) Yay! Puns! That does make the day complete.
