Coffee is my friend.
Mmmm. So good *happy sigh* I got up at a decent hour today and had time to watch Alias and exercise, which is the first time I've managed to do that in far too long - Thanksgiving threw a giant wrench in the works of my routine! But hopefully I'm back on track now. But then, afterwards I had an absolutely heavenly glass of cranberry juice (mmm) and took a shower and then didn't end up getting coffee until I got to work!
I KNOW! However - when we moved to the new building, with the smaller number of people using the breakroom, I decided there was no way I could put up with craptastic coffee again! So I brought in my own grounds and just make myself a single cup at a time, using a plastic manual brewer like this one. Except that mine is blue! But I don't bother with the cone filters, I just use the ones that work provides. My grandmother always brewed her coffee that way, although into a full pot, not just a cup, and using a larger version. But it's SO MUCH BETTER than the vile stuff they brew at work, with the cheap grounds and the sitting on the burner forever and the wildly varying strength! *happy sigh*
Last night I got the first of anything Holidayish in the mail! And it was one of the mixed CDs that I requested from my WishList! *dances* I am very excited - and also amused. Because it's from
manintheboat, and how neat and funny is it that the first thing I get is from somebody who found me randomnly during wishlist searches and friendsfriends and things like that? And I don't recognize any of the songs (except the couple of Christmas songs included) that are on the list by name - but what I've heard I'm very much liking. 16 Horsepower, Arab Strap, The Black Heart Procession are some of the groups on the list - none of which I'd had any exposure to before. I also want to make sure to thank
lizzyrose89 who sent me a bunch of yousendit links of songs! Wee, music!
AND there are only 16 days until my birthday, wee! Ok, I'm gonna try to be good and not do a daily countdown to the Most Important Day of the Year.
CoWorker N and I strung up the Holiday lights across our desk so that it forms a barricade and looks rather like twinkling barbed wire - it's a sparkling barricade! It's about chest height at the top and belly height on the lower strand (three total!) and requires limbo'ing to get in and out - or so we tell people who stop by. Also you can, with some technique, scoot out with your chair, which is my exit strategy of choice. Coworker N is going to try to bring in her digital camera so that we can take pictures, in which case I shall post them. Because I know you are dying to see them!
I have so much work to do and instead I just want to talk and type to you guys! Dang it! And read because there's Kovsky's heartwarming mpreg bedtime story in her LJ and then there's the insane wank that AnnieSJ linked to about the living, breathing Mary Sue. Justine Sue. Whatever. In which I have a SPECIAL INTEREST because omk, she comes from KC!! *flails* *shivers*
Yet work is growling my name and I have things to do...so in the meantime, have a fabulous day!
