I wish safe travels for anybody that's on the road today and a lovely time for anybody who is already elsewhere and a relaxing and fun time for anybody who is not going anywhere! Or, you know, mix and match depending on your preferences! And for those who aren't in the US or don't celebrate Thanskgiving, Happy Thursday!

First of all - the thing I am NOT thankful for - that ashlyn26, with the evil urgings of the CTpeople such as crimsonlady, hoshi_loki, moonanstars and wildanni7 (and anybody else I didn't know about!) bought me an evil, EVIL looking raccoon statue thing off ebay and sent it to me. Because it is EVIL. And it arrived and I didn't even want to open it because Ash warned me ahead of time how evil and sadistic she was feeling.

And it's hideous and in person even more so because the picture doesn't fully grasp how sinister the diabolical and plotting faces of the raccoons are. But it's just...it's so wrong. I have no clue what I am going to do with it. Maybe give it to circe_tigana since somehow this is all her fault.

Soooo...Now on to the list of things I'm thankful for:

1. I am thankful for the health and continued survival of my family
2. I am thankful for my new car, because this is the first time in a couple years that I've been able to go home for Thanksgiving, and slightly longer that I could go home and just feel safe and secure.
3. I am thankful for my nephbo, because he's the happiest and most loveable baby and every moment with him is a joy - and he lives so close, I get a lot of joy
4. I am thankful for all my wonderful and amazing friends, both those in 'rl' and those in LJ - and even more thankful at how many in the latter category have fallen into the former.
5. I am thankful for my job, which I enjoy going to, both because the work is interesting but even more so because I have amazing coworkers
6. I am thankful for all the little things in life that make it more joyous - music, books, television, snark :p
7. I am thankful for the Holiday Wishlist meme because it's put me in the Holiday spirit weeks ahead of schedule, as I get to buy presents and plot out gifts - and I've even bought family presents ahead of schedule because of it!
8. I'm thankful for the snow outside, that it looks beautiful but the roads are clear enough that it should be a safe trip home.
9. I'm thankful that 2004 really turned out to be a good year and I'm hopeful that 2005 will be even better.
10. I'm thankful for all of you, those whose journals I read and those who comment in my journal, for the friendships I have made and those that I'll make in the future.

And that's my list, although I could probably go on and on if I go into the little nitpicky things like the fact that I'm thankful for wool socks. I really like socks. And my feet are cold because I'm about to get dressed and not wearing any but I want to go on the record as saying socks? Are good things.

I was planning on coming home Saturday - rumors are the weather might be crappy Saturday so if that happens, I'm not coming home until Sunday. The first one was easy to upload and it's the GIP - a replacement for my Snyder Unacceptable icon that is just GORGEOUS!

And the second one is just...I am speechless. I have to figure out where to make room for it (LJ? If you can hear me? 100 icon spaces would be the BEST Christmas gift EVER!) but until then:
