Ok, it is absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous outside today. I have my windows open, and I was outside earlier with the dog as well.
I actually ended up spending the night while dog sitting and sleeping on the couch - it was a lot easier than contemplating going over at the wee hours of the morning. That way when the dog woke me up - which he does by standing right in front of me and putting his face by mine until I wake up - I could just stumble to the door and let him out into the yard, and then lay down for a bit longer. Much better plan.
At least until I woke up for real - neither the BFF nor her husband drink coffee, as strange and twisted as that might sound. I'd thought about bringing some over to make by hand but then I decided it was too complicated and too much to juggle. So instead I let the dog back out and made my treacherous way across the street, made myself a doublesized cup of coffee, and carried it back over. And it was gooood.
And then I watched Day After Tomorrow which is excellent on a large tv, if totally cheesy. *happy sigh* It was a bit like Independence Day, Part 2 But the teens were all absolutely adorable together and the wolves were the cheesiest and funniest thing ever. Plus I always like disaster films when you see those resigned to their doom in their final moments and going out with friends. It's like that John Barnes novel, something Storm, that I read ages ago - total cheesy disaster novel really, but perfect if that's what you're in the mood for.
I also alternated between panic and joy over my car. And then I was like, settle down swm, just be happy. And so I am! And now I am about to make myself a bacon, egg and gouda bagel sandwich and have another cup of coffee. So really, it's all good.
Also, I am apparently in trouble. So I would just like to state, right now:
