Oh man. This recovering from travel thing is taking longer than normal. I went to bed earlyish again last night. As a matter of fact I took work home, didn't even get close to finishing it, decided to get up early this morning to finish it and...overslept. So I got a smidgeon more done and then I took it in to work. Sent what I had and kept the rest and JUST NOW finished it. Thank god. My brain is now totally fried and I am starved.
Here is the tragedy - it is Taco Wednesday and yet...I do not feel like eating tacos. WHAT TO DO?! Do I go with my beloved Taco Wednesday anyway, savoring the cheap but still tasty tacos, or venture out into the stifling heat in search of something I don't know about at all, but which might sound more appetizing? It's not helping that I happen to know that
flowery_twat is about to have coffee and cake, because that sounds scrumptious.
Hi, all who friended me recently. *waves happily* If it was cause of the Jane Espenson Q&A, I just have to warn you - my LJ sadly will rarely contain recaps of events such as that! So I won't be hurt if you don't chose to stick around after the last of the writercon stuff. I'm planning on doing one or two more posts (depending on length) about last weekend, but they're likely to be more people orientated then recaps, although I did put a few more things I remembered in comments. Also, somebody asked about Phantom Dennis and Jane not only repeated what she's said before about not getting the 300 dollar per ep reappearance fee for him, she also joked that she's never received that for any other character as well! But she seemed quite fond of Phantom Dennis (and who wouldn't be?!). Anyway, as
violetsmiles said to me on aim last night "If anybody else spent as much time talking about coffee, grass and dead fish as you, I would have defriended them a long time ago." To be fair, it's just been ONE dead fish, it's simply that he continues to haunt me.
Hee, and, um, sidenote - it's my department's week to do the Friday lunch. And we totally forgot about it until yesterday afternoon. However, we've decided to take the easy and slackeriffic way out. Although, thank god, they nixed the peanutbutter and jelly sandwich idea when it was realized HOW DISGUSTING it would be to have to make two hundred PB&J sandwiches. *shudder* We talked about shish kebabs, as I think you guys know, but we really don't have the time. So instead? Deli trays, baby! It's all going to be 'make your own sandwiches'. And after weeks of hot dogs, hamburgers and brats, it's probably going to be a welcome change.
Summer is ending, however, and soon there won't be any more lunches at all :( After ours, there is just one or two more. *sniff*.
Anyway, coffee was exceptional again this morning! Plus I had a brilliant idea this morning, in an attempt to combat my travel issues. I totally need to sign up for the Amazing Race! I'd be the biggest underdog EVER! And then I could do a sponsership thing on travel insurance and make my fortune.
Oh, re: Babylon 5 - I'm almost done with Season 3, it should be tonight. Hurrah!
*hugs to all* and have a fantastic day! I misssssssssssssss everybody from
writercon !
