*hugs*

First of all, sorry to everybody who I haven't been able to responf to yet - the drop down comment replies are a lot harder to answer on my phone.

Second of all, wee, update - I'm in Denver right now...the put us on a new flight late last night and then up in a hotel. The list of how it all fell out will be in a longer post, when I can do a cut tag (as will me talking about writercon!).

But the upshot is I got booked on a new flight with another airline for this morning. I manage to make it to my gate and, um, it's delayed. Hopefully only 15 minutes...somebody start sending out those good vibes!

And now...the post you all have not been waiting for! Hurrah!

With as many LJ names as I'd have to use, I'm not doing any posts about Writercon without being able to use semagic because I? Am not positive I'm capable of hitting the keyboard at all. If you saw how much I've had to backspace...

Instead, I talk about Swmbo versus the Airlines: swmbo .5, airlines 50000

This is ungodly long...don't say I didn't warn ya! )

Came into work. Am at work now. Relayed the story of my adventure, at least in brief, and told them I was about to die.

And they suggested I not do it at the office because 1) they don't have a large enough Altoids tin and 2) they didn't think they had the best track records with bodies.

And that, my friends, was this month's installment of Flying the Fiendly Skies with [livejournal.com profile] swmbo!

*collapses in a heap* Later I'll try to sum up my WriterCon adventures. If I can remember how to 1) walk and 2) drive sometime in the next two hours.

And yet does not talk about [livejournal.com profile] writercon at all...

Because - I called my mom after I got home from work, because she'd left a message this morning on my voicemail saying "I heard American Airlines had a couple hours with their computers down and no flights and wanted to make sure you got home ok." So I started off by saying I'm home, I'm here and I didn't fly AA and proceed to tell her at least the highlights (lowlights) of my trip.

Then she said "That doesn't surprise me, considering what happened the last time you were in Vegas."

I blinked because - I'd never been to Vegas, at least as far as I knew. But apparently, I was incorrect. (Which makes me a liar for every time I said "first trip to Vegas" or "first time' or whatever). But it seems when I was two, my parents, my older brother and myself all went to Vegas.

And I got trapped in a trampoline.

There were daycares in Vegas to take care of small children and my brother (who was 6) and I both were put in it when my parents went to do Vegas-y things. And I really loved it, it was the first time I'd ever been in a daycare and there were crayons and toys and, apparently, a trampoline. And to make it "safer" they'd dug a small hole to put the trampoline in (I can almost see how it might work) so that kids wouldn't hurt themselves if they fell off, that it wouldn't be as high. This being the old fashioned days before trampoline nets became common.

And somehow I managed to slip underneath the trampoline and into the hole and became trapped. My brother told my mom it took three people to get me out.

So that, my friends, is the story of my first true trip to Vegas.

However, now? Now I am home. Home home and not work home. With my couch and my bed and my couch and...*collapses* The worst thing is I think I'm too wired now to sleep. But I am home !
