I hope everybody had a wonderful day yesterday, no matter if it was the Fourth of July or just the Sunday, July Fourth to them! My day involved me sleeping in until 9ish, watching the last two episodes of Babylon 5 I have at home (and oh yes, I have things to say but they will wait), and then baking the apple crisp for the bbq I was going to, which started at 1.
And it was during the day's events when I discovered they're going to be doing Best of the 90s as well as Best of the 80s on VH1. *is dead* Those shows are addictive and obsessive and also, quite frankly, embarrassing :) Although - the nineties were cool, right? Right?! *flails slightly*
The fireworks display I saw last night was beautiful. And the day and night were perfect, weather wise. I spent several hours outside without parbroiling during the late afternoon - a nice breeze and just really not as humid as is usual. And the weather at night was absolutely right - the skies were perfect for showing off the fireworks. We saw lots of other displays as we drove down to the place we were going and then the main one. And it made me remember how much I love fireworks, it's the hobbit in me. I remember when I was little I was always vaguely sad that I didn't get to see the kinds of fireworks they talked about in the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Last night, however, they almost got close. No ship sailing across the sky, but the patterns were beautifully precise.
( When I was a kid on the Fourth... )
And today I'm off work! The Great Plan is to clean the house clean enough that it's suitable for inlaws (not, obviously, mine) because when I am away next weekend in DeeCee, my best friend's in laws are coming into town and I've volunteered my house's bedrooms since with the nursery, they're suddenly short of space. Although probably it'll be the BFF and her husband staying in my house and they're used to me, I should still do the full vacuum and dust sort of cleaning. Probably not the windows, though. I'm not that far gone! And my computer is...I don't know what to do with it. I'm going to probably just have to wait to figure it out next week - as long as I can use it to get online, I'm happy for now.
Have a wonderful day, everybody! *hugs*
