Saturday! Oh the sweet, sweet sounds of Saturday, which include...the telephone ringing at 8:30 AM. Now, keep in mind that I was up. If you define up as being awake but not having moved from bed. And having been awake for a little bit. Instead I was thinking happy thoughts about [livejournal.com profile] cracktrailer (well, happy for ME, the boys themselves were a little pissed off. Cause that's how I like 'em) and the fact that it was Saturday. But the phone rings when the phone rings I have to try to answer it. And I did make it downstairs (without falling!) and to the phone just as it rang the fourth time and for once, for ONCE, I managed to pick it up before it went to voicemail.

It was the mombo. Of course it was, actually, because who else is crazy enough to call me at 8:30 on a Saturday morning and expect me to be up? And even she didn't really expect it.

Cut for mombo talk )

In other news - part of me wants to go see PoA today and part of me in extraordinarily lazy. I told Ash last night I might do it after I mowed the back yard. But then my schedule went all off kilter last night so I will put that off until tomorrow. But oh, OH!!!

MR LARRY! My boss put him on the ledge that separates our two offices so that I can see Mr. Larry from my desk! Oh my goodness, it's so great. *dances* Mr. Larry, Mr. Larry, I've missssed you. *hop* Although there is still no rootbeer in the vending machine of evil.

Also, not only is Mr Larry back within my loving...gaze - Kovsky is back online! Not right this minute and not...where I can see her and not with highspeed yet and...but it's POSSIBLE for her to be there any minute! Hurray! And she can read of the smut again, which she could not do when surrounded by family in hotel rooms. Poor, poor Kovsky.

So anyway, I'm up, I'm awake, I'm about to have my second cup of coffee and I need to decide if I want to go to the early showing of PoA - weighing the cheapskateness of swmbo versus the fact that it will be extraordinarily crowded, and with probably quite small children. And I like kids, but not if it is where they are taking crying babies into theaters, poor things. I have - one hour to decide. GO GO ME. That's enough time for a second cup of coffee :p

HAPPY WEEKEND! *hugs you all*

OMG!

Just got back from seeing Prisoner of Azkaban and I will not say anything in terms of spoilers. However, I am for the first time compelled to seek out Harry Potter fic. *facepalms* I don't know what part pushed me over the edge - if it was the movie format (because I tend not to seek out fanfic based on books, anyway, because I think in some way the original source material is more likely to satisfy what I want, unless it's the 'where do we go from here' sort of need) and how I reacted to it specifically, or if it's the fact that I'm in a very different place about fandom(s) in general - when Order of the Phoenix came out I didn't even have an LJ yet, although I confess to have been lurking on a few on and off. And [livejournal.com profile] minervacat just brought up a question in her LJ which is mixing up my brain, about why there doesn't seem to be a distinction between the movie and the book versions of HP fandom, like there are with many other multi-source fandoms.

I don't know the answer. What I DO know is I want HP fic now. More specifically, futurefic that takes place post-Order of the Phoenix, although I could be happy with other things. Preferably, right now, with Hermione, although if anybody has any good recs for ANYTHING I wanna see it. The HP fandom has always scared me with the sheer depth and breadth of it all, although I've read a very few rec'ed pieces in the past. I do want stuff where the kids are older, or maybe pre-Voldemort stories and pieces set during his reign of terror. That kind of stuff set around non-canon chars, or using the villains...

I don't know! I'm just craving something wordless here. So I throw myself on your mercy - anybody with good recs, please feel free to toss them my way.

*happy sigh* AND I have chocolate. HP, books and movies, really feeds my chocolate love.

*hugs you all*
