Daylight Savings Time is evil. EVIL! I had to drag myself out of bed this morning - All last week I was up well before my alarm and spritely and happy and skipping down the stairs (not literally cause disaster lays that way) to get coffee and check and see what shenanigans my FList was up to over night and to check and see what lovely emails I had received and to respond to things.

Not today. Oh no. Today it was all....sleeping and then the alarm goes off and I roll over with a grumpy sound and then the alarm goes off again and I think "sooo tired, sleep is my friend" and the...I sit bolt right up in bed and think - but something might have HAPPENED OVERNIGHT! And hopped out of bed and - half-stumbled my way to the kitchen, got the coffee, drug myself up the stairs and...wee! Email! Comments! Entries! I am able to survive.

But I'm still exhausted and I want to be back on last week's internal clock. Plus I quite dislike the name Daylight Savings Time. We save nothing! We throw it away *sniff* Ok, maybe we secretly stick it in a safe somewhere to take it out with loving care next fall and spend it. But really, I want that hour back right now.

Just as an update for those who couldn't sleep last night due to raving curiosity about swmbo's fic - I did manage to start it last night, which is the first major step. Staring at the blank page is icky. I started it, I wrote about a page and I shall finish it tonight after I get home from work. Where, weee! Today is supposed to be the first day I do actual, proper work instead of orientations and getting myself familiar and some work but nothing really in depth with what my job is. So, hurrah! I am excited. Not excited enough to be awake (*growls at DST*) but excited.

*hugs to all* I hope everybody has an excellent Monday! And my Twat comes home tomorrow, hurrah!

Also, writing this entry woke me up 73.4 % *dances*

Sooooo....

Hi! Ok, this is the thing. This is the worst thing about not being able to post from work, having to wait until now to tell this story! Ok, the other night - I think Saturday afternoon - I was sitting at the computer and I heard this really LOUD thud sound.* ANd I was like, what the heck? So I got up to investigate...I could tell it came from somewhere to my left but since I was on the far right of the house that wasn't particularly helpful - I couldn't even tell if it was upstairs, downstairs, basement or garage. I check and nothing LOOKED weird or crashed or anything - I open the garage and look out and the only thing I notice is a pull is swinging in the garage. But I don't think anything of it except that - it was weird that it was.

But this morning...I go out into the garage, hit the garage door opener, and ...the door only goes up about a foot and a half. Which, ok, sometimes it stalls. So I hit the button again, let it go down, hit it again, let it go up and...again, it stalls. And I'm like...ok, this isn't good. The garage doors are not only heavy, they're bolted together so that the door opener opens both - and there's no way I could open them by hand. Plus I can't figure out WHY they aren't working. So I turn on the light, and I'm calling my neighbor across the street as well...but the phone just rings and rings and there is no answer...and I continue to investigate.

The spring on one side has snapped back, so the door won't open. *sob* But I figured out that if I hit the opener while holding on to that side and pushing up, it won't NOTICE that there's no tension on that side and it'll open. So I open the door, get my car out, close it...and go to work.
My car is now parked in the garage and I'm going to have to see if it the opener is at all repairable or if it's going to have to be totally replaced. Thank goodness it's APRIL and there's no small chance of ICE and SNOW.

However, in GOOD news? [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou - the sushi cat picture arrived! Hee! Thank you SO much! Sushi forever!!!

Eta *At the time, I was convinced it was either a bird hurling itself at my garage door OR the beginning of the raccoon invasion.
