Yay for presents!I walked out the door this morning to discover that Einstein, my neighbor's cat, had left me a little present. *pets Einstein* Nothing like nearly stepping on a headless bird corpse to start the day!
In basement news, it's slowly drying out and I'm slowly ripping up carpet. It's a great joy to me, let me tell you. On the other hand, it's something I'd been meaning to do for months and months so ... yay, incentive! So that's all well and good. My plan is to have it up before this weekend. We'll see how that goes!
And yesterday was gorgeous, the weather hit over 70 degrees! It's about 20 degrees cooler today but still lovely. *sighs happily* I love spring. *peers out the window* Um, spring without flooding, once was enough.
When I started this entry, I had something specific and potentially exciting/earth-shattering to share. Huh. It's gone now. Darn it. A sieve, my brain is like a sieve! Darn it, I swear, there was something I was going to share. Besides the fact that
knotted_rose will be *dance* visiting KC this weekend! Wee! My first out-of-town meeting, yay!
Oh! OH! I remember now what the thing I was going to say was. Last week. Last week I heard the first cricket of the season. I didn't SEE him, I just heard that oh-to-familiar chirping. That was pre-basement flooding. And since my theory is that the crickets sneak in through the basement (based on the fact that there were more in the basement then upstairs), I'm hoping that, if nothing else, the basement situation creates a difficult situation for the invading force. So - keep your fingers crossed. And I'm keeping a sharp eye out for the nasty buggers.
*hugs everybody* And ... Hi !
