Shall I do a gripey, grouchy post? Yes, yes I shall!Last night? The wind would not stop HOWLING! Just howl and howl and howl and I felt like I was going to go insane. That maybe I should run outside and start shouting "The Mooors, the Moooors!" or something. It was bad before I went to bed, it was noticeable then. When I actually went to bed? Everytime I almost fell asleep, it would start up louder. It was after 3, I know, before I actually fell asleep. So I got, eh, between 3 and 4 hours of sleep. *sigh*

But wait! The story does not stop there! So I wake up and the first thing I after I wake up is check my email. It's reflex! Even if I oversleep, I check the email. And I didn't actually oversleep, I just, you know, pushed the envelope snooze button a few times. So anyway, I go to check my email - it times out. That's weird. Check my flist - it won't pull up. My DSL IS DOWN!!! *FLAIL* *PANIC* *FLAIL AND PANIC*

...

Wait. Breathe. Pick up phone to see if it has been fixed (see yesterday's entry, although I will sum up again in further griping in a minute). It has Dead Air! *flail and panic more* *breathe again* Reboot. Go upstairs and start morning rituals of cleanliness. Go back downstairs. Lights are blinking on the DSL modem! Blinking green! Check my settings. It works! I am saved, DSL works!

Check phone. Still dead air.

So, um, phone update - Last night I complained about intense static noise on the phone. It got weirder as the evening went on. When I "went to bed" (HAH! *glares* Stupid wind) at around midnight it was doing this weird thing where not only was there intense static, it was making a noise like it was off the hook, even though I just have the two phones and neither of them were off the hook. On the bright side, now when people call me? It goes straight to my voicemail, which is a lot better than before, when they were getting this weird horrible static noise themselves. But anyway, that was last night. This morning? Dead Air. And the update status when I would check it online just kept saying "It will be fixed by 6pm Friday". Guess what? 6pm Friday rolls around? It's not fixed. The update message has been changed to read:

We were unable to complete the repair of 913-xxx-xxxx as previously scheduled. We are working to restore your service as soon as possible. But wait! There's more! It then goes on to say: Please contact the Repair Center at one of the numbers below for further assistance. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks. I would. IF I HAD A PHONE!!!! Grr. They're so helpful. So it's not fixed and there's no new ETA. And yes, I could walk across the street and use my neighbor's phone again (which is how I originally even called in the trouble report) but, um...It's nasty outside. It's wet and raining and the wind might, at any moment, start howling. Actually it's not even raining at this instant, I'm such a liar. It's just damp. It's oozing dampness at me and I don't want it to, I want to stay inside where it's warm and dry.

Oh yeah and the other part was - I was so exhausted from the not sleeping that I took a nap this afternoon. Slept from about 6 til a little after 7. Flailed and panicked more when I realized I'd forgotten to set the TiVo to record Joan of Arcadia - thank goodness wisteria_ saved my sanity about 5 minutes ago by telling me that it is/was a repeat. Whew.

And I had dreams when I was napping. Dreams that my phone was fixed and working when I got up (yeah, my dreams can get pretty mundane) and dreams that I made a post and then thought "damn it, I wanted to do the 'three things about a character' meme and just did a post and I don't want to spam". Yes. My dreams can be REALLY mundane.

However, I'm taking it as a sign. So, if anybody is still reading down this far and wants to tell me :
