A plane - NOT a small plane but a regular fullsized plane - slid off the runway today because of a gust of wind combined, apparently, with the lack of traction from the weather. Weee! That's the second plane in two days that has slid into a ditch here at KCI, apparently yesterday one did because of the de-icing solution they used on the runway or something.
And a man with a MACHINE GUN tried to rob a Pizza Hut in KC today. A Pizza Hut. Yeah, that's a good thing to rob if you've got a machine gun. And it didn't work out because somehow the manager of the Pizza Hut somehow managed to get the machine gun away from him and chased him into the parking lot and then begin hitting him with the machine gun, yelling "You're trying to rob my place?". Eyewitnesses he kept getting more angered the more he thought about it. He then jumped up and ran into the street and flagged down a police car, still waving the machine gun. I boggle.
And it flurried a little bit today, not a lot. But we're supposed to continue to get more snow off and on over the next week. Unless they change the forecast again, of course. We ended up with 10 inches of snow yesterday, by the way. Which for here? Is a lot. They closed lots of malls and we had a building that was partially under construction collapse, although they're not absolutely sure that it was the snow that caused it, as it's still under investigation.
The bad thing is that my mom was thinking of coming up next weekend but with the weather as bad/unpredictable as it has been, she is probably not going to do it. *sniff*
