First of all, happy birthday
kita0610 and
sisabet!
I hope you have a perfect day and an even better year. For such a short month, Feb is full of the birthdays of wonderful people.
Yay! I haven't talked in days, I know you missed me. Ok, maybe two days. That's a really long time! I expect there were tears and suffering galore. *comforts you all* I have hankies and soothing tea for all of you, to help you recover. And chocolate. And cake. And soup.
I'm snowed in. Yay! Outside it looks as if somebody has taken a snowglobe and shaken it up, it's been snowing since late last night and it just keeps going, no idea when it's going to stop. The first proper snowfall of the year, hurrah! Even if it did interfere with what I needed to get done today, I'm not caring because it's just so pretty. Sometimes it's all about the pretty. Yes, I'm preaching to the choir even if normally we're not talking snow.
But oh! I saw the absolute worst driver in the entire world this morning. We're talking complete idiot. My window looks out an elementary school, and on the teacher's parking lot for it. School was cancelled everywhere today because of the aforementioned snow. So! I look out the window, at the very pretty snow. And I see the parking lot...and there is this person in a jeep who keeps ...racing around the parking lot in order to make himself slide. At first I think it's just an accidental slide, but they KEEP doing it. But there wasn't anybody else in the lot so I thought, maybe they're trying to learn to drive on snow or teaching somebody or seeing how safe the jeep is, even though it seems a very dangerous way to do it.
But no! They leave the parking lot and they down the regular street. Which is a pretty decent sized street with a fair amount of traffic. And they're going WAY too fast and they slide twice more before they go out of view.
So I'm all freaked out about that because you know, true that one of the worst things about bad weather is all the bad drivers on the road. But that? That was absolutely insane. There's no way they're going to make it home in one piece driving like that and, worse, they might end up seriously injuring somebody else. *sigh* Darn drivers.
But I'm well prepared for the cold weather, having made a huge pot of something which is half chicken chili and half chicken tortilla soup. Depending on what I decide to call it at any moment. And eventually it will snow snowing. I'm not sure when, but someday...
*massive hugs to all*
