Blah.
I knew going to bed last night that there would still be limbo this morning but it still feels weird. I rarely to never talk about politics in my LJ. But I want to point out my darling
minervacat amazing post this morning. And then I wanted to think about
ingrid_m's post, which is more about the potential Why? of it all.
On a personal note, being distracted by the waiting this morning nearly made me put red curry paste instead of strawberry jam on my bagel. Which would have been horrific.
And on an even more frustrating personal note - exactly what I feared with my review happened - my COO had to cancel/postpone. And worse, the suggested reschedule was for lateish afternoon on the 11th - which is when I need to finish up a project so I can duck out early and fly to visit SF. *facepalms* And then the SECOND suggested rescheduling was actually for when I was out of town!! And I'm still waiting to hear about the third. But at this rate it will never happen and you know, I realllly want my salary review, please, because I both need and deserve a raise. *sigh*
This will also poke holes in my buying-a-car-plan, which I wanted to do so that I didn't have to continue to trust mine, particularly on trips up to the airport, which always worry me because hey, my nightmare is not just breaking down but breaking down and missing a flight! Heh. Still, I am tough and strong. And also virtually looking at the Hyundai Elantra and the Nissan Sentra as cheap-but-new-cars.
Or I could go used and obviously get a lot more car for my money, I've just never owned a new-new car and the idea is shiny. Very shiny. Even if impractical.
I should focus on the bright side that I did not start my morning off with a cream cheese and curry paste bagel.

LOVE IT.
Can't talk now, but IM me tonight and I'll tell you all about it.

I'd probably go for a 2004 instead of a 2005, because of the slight cheapness of inventory clearance stuff but, woot ! Yay!
I will totally AIM you! I won't be on until late because it's Wednesday and I'll be over at the BFFs until probably 9 or 10ish, but I'll try to log on when I get home and if not, I'll definitely be on tomorrow.

Always look on the bright sight of lifeā¦
On the other hand, would it kill Kerry to fight a little bit more?

Looking at the actual facts and figures - this isn't 2000. The margin was a lot smaller then - there's virtually no chance that Kerry would win, the popular vote is clearly for Bush and Kerry would basically have to win every single one of the provisional ballots in the Ohio race to win. Which isn't going to happen, and he knows it.

And heh, I was getting really freaked out when they wanted to reschedule for next week when I wasn't even going to be here - but right NOW it's been rescheduled for next Tuesday at 4. Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't get changed again!

I AM ENTITLED TO MY DAYS OFF, OMG!!
But yeah, hee. Tuesday at 4 my time! Feel the vibes, baby! *cuddles you*
I'm also glad the rescheduling is BEFORE my vacation, not after. Hee.

*vibes at you*
And yes, because you need to know now!!

It will happen...even if you have to wait til you get back. I sympathise with the newcaritis. I bought my first last year...but I think I could have gotten one only 2-3 years old and still been happy.
Cream cheese and non-curry paste bagel of the good. Hold onto that image ;-)

Thank you! I will get through this, despite the rampant uncertainty :) And I really, really want new new new, but the rational part also says 'bang for your buck'.
Then I think 'bang for your buck? I don't want an exploding car!'
Yes. I had strawberry jam in the end! This is a good thing.

*vibes you harder*
And if you don't know, you might have a nervous breakdown! I know you must know!!!!

The bright side is that this is a smaller countdown than the one to visit Ros, which should make that trip pass faster!!

I would just like to point out that I am the person that LOSES in Vegas!

Also, in more badluck news - those of us at the new building have to start parking behind that building. This makes sense in theory but in practice it bites, because the door is closer to the old parking lot and it's gonna be a Forever Trip!

The Elantra's great. Fabulous warranty. Handles smoothly. Really well designed inside, and it feels like a much more expensive car than it is. Tons of storage nooks and cupholders. *g* Not the most powerful car, but what do you expect for the price? And the gas mileage isn't quite as high as they claim, but hey. Same could be said of most cars. If you get one, don't get the factory CD player, which kinda sucks. Go for the clearcoat paint, because the paint can chip easily. This is the second Elantra I've owned, and I've been very happy with both of them. Hyundais are great because they have such a crappy reputation, so the company works that much harder to make them wonderful.
(Plus, very few people have Elantras, so you won't have the problem of driving the same damn car everyone else does. ;)

The more I read about it, the more the Elantra really sounds like the right choice to me, from the high safety to the fact that it's a really great car for the relatively cheap price.
Hee, the only drawback I have seen is the fact that the only color I really like is the silver, although the blue is becoming strangely appealing to me.
